Free Stuff!

Did "Free" get your attention? Most of us like to receive free stuff. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of freebies in life. Groups such as freecycle are located around the country. They serve as an exchange board for all the stuff people no longer want or need.

The concept is pretty simple. Once you join a group, you can see the items others have and no longer want and you can post items you have and want to get rid of. Members of the group then contact each other and make the exchange.

Besides being able to get these items for free, you are also preventing many items from being thrown into the trash when they are still useful. This is good stewardship.

Sumter does have a local group which is quite active. Freecycle is just one of the organizations out there. If you do not have a freecycle group in your area, start one or search for a similar group and sign up. You will save some money, keep trash out of the landfill and be a good steward in the process.

Construction Updates


The electrical inspection on the Student Building is complete and the sheet rock is being hung today. If things continue to move along smoothly, Nathan and the students are hoping to paint next weekend.

Student Building Update

Construction is moving along well in the Student Building. This morning the electrical inspection is being done. Once that passes, the sheet rockers will be able to move in and begin hanging the walls. The expected move in date is two weeks away.

Alice Drive Baptist Church exists to help as many people as possible take their next step towards Jesus Christ.

We do this by helping them:

Know Jesus - This past Sunday 6 people took their next step toward Jesus by being baptized.

Know Community - On April 20 a new adult Bible Community class is being started at 9:45.

Grow Character - Several groups meet throughout the week to lift up the church and others in prayer.

Go Share - In February a group of seven ladies went on mission to Africa and another group is going this summer.

These are but a few examples of the ways people are taking their next steps towards Jesus Christ. When you give to the ministry of Alice Drive, you make these steps possible. Thank you for making a difference.

Big Day

Student Building Update

The renovation to the Student Building continues to go well. Walls are going up for the classrooms and the balcony for the tech equipment has been added. The building takes on a different look each day when I walk out to see what the crews are working on. Estimated completion time is just two weeks away. I know the students are looking forward to getting back into their "new" home.
Thank you for giving to Build on the Rock. Through your generosity we are able to make room for more students to take their Next Step toward Jesus Christ.
