Daily Scripture
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: 10 If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

What is the Catalyst?
There is a feeling of excitement in the air around ADBC this morning. The 8:30 service has already started and it looks like there is a good number in attendance. Total attendance throughout the summer is up an additional 100 people each week - and this during a time of year when church attendance usually drops. A lot of new people are checking out church. 37 people attended Starting Point last week and 19 joined the church. Our weekly first time guest visits have been up each week. We have two baptisms this morning for a total of 7 this month.
The list of things happening goes on and on. What is the catalyst? There can only be one answer - God! He is in the business of making the impossible possible.
Isn't it exciting to be a part of God's work at ADBC?

Faith or Fear?
I read Business Week each week. It is amazing to me how long it’s been since I read a positive article. It seems each week; there is more bad economic news. I wonder sometimes if they are scared to publish something positive, fearing it may actually turn things around.
Publishing a positive article certainly would not change much, but attitude in the face of struggle plays a big part. Does your attitude reflect “The sky is falling” or does it reflect someone who has the faith that things will work out? Faith is not blind hope in a magic 8-ball that says “Stay the course.” It is confidence in a living God and our knowledge that things will work out for His will and in his time.
I hope your commitment to the tithe is a reflection of faith, rather than fear. I hope your gifts to the church are given with the attitude “I (we) can do this. God is in control.” Each one of us can make a significant contribution to the church that says, “We can do this. God is in control.”

Vacation Bible Spectacular
This has been an incredible week at Alice Drive. Each night we have had hundreds of children, students and adults on campus experiencing Vacation Bible Spectacular. Bible stories have been taught, songs have been learned, friendships have been made and the love of Christ has been shared.
This week has been fun but most importantly seeds have been planted and next steps have been taken toward Jesus Christ. All of this was possible because you have been faithful to give a portion of what God has blessed you with to the ministry of Alice Drive Baptist Church. On behalf of the hundreds who have been here this week, thank you!

Big Wins!
Today was an incredible day at Alice Drive Baptist Church. Some of the highlights from the day:
- Vacation Bible Spectacular kicked off tonight with a great start - we had 570 in attendance
- There were over 1000 in attendance at worship - in July
- 18 Outreach visits for first time attenders
- The biggest win of the day - one lady took her next step by accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior!
God is good and He is in control! I hope you will join us for the adventure as we see where God is taking us.

Vacation Bible Spectacular
VBS starts tomorrow night. If you haven't already registered, it's not too late. You can register by either going to www.adbc.org or signing up at the registration desk in the lobby at the church. Check in begins tomorrow night at 5:30. VBS will run from 6:00 to 8:30 each night.
Thursday night we will wrap up the VBS week with Kids Blitz. Last year we had a great night with the Kidz Blitz team. If you have never experienced Kidz Blitz, it is a night of using fun and games to present the Gospel in a way children can understand. Over 20 children accepted Christ during the Kidz Blitz presentation. last year.
If you are bringing children to VBS each night, let me invite you to save some gas and spend the evening at the church. We will have a Wi-Fi station set up on the porch with a seating area and lemonade, water and tea to drink. If you have some work to do or just want to spend some time relaxing bring your laptop or a book and spend the evening with us while your children are having a Spectacular time inside.
I hope to see you and your kids this week for PowerLab!

Daily Scripture
2 His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. 4 Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man. 5 Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice. 6 Surely he will never be shaken; a righteous man will be remembered forever. 7 He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. 8 His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes. 9 He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor, his righteousness endures forever; his horn will be lifted high in honor.

Freedom
Galatians 5: 1 tells us that "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free." As you celebrate Independence Day, thank God for the freedom we have as Americans to openly worship Him. Also take a moment to think about what you do with that freedom to serve God. Do you take freedom for granted or do you use your freedom to advance His kingdom? We should ever take our Heavenly freedom or our freedom as Americans for granted.
Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the baptism of three individuals as they publicly proclaim the freedom they have found in Christ.
I hope to see you on Sunday!

Construction Update
Work is continuing on the drop-off and parking lot. The columns are up and filled with concrete and the masons are bricking up the columns. On Monday, the steel was put in place for the roofing structure. Next week the curbing will be poured and the shape of the parking lot will begin to emerge.
There is a lot happening on the east side of the building. If you haven't seen the site yet, walk over on Sunday and see what is going on.
