Botswana Mission Team
Our third team left on Thursday morning for a 10 day trip to Botswana. Currently they are stalled in Senegal with plane troubles. Everyone is safe and OK. They are waiting for another plane to take them on to South Africa and then Botswana. Please pray for them as they anxiously await. If you would like to follow their travels, a blog has been set up at www.adbcinafrica2008.blogspot.com. Follow the link for updates and to leave them an encouraging comment or prayer.

Next Steps
Alice Drive Baptist Church exists to help as many people as possible take their next step toward Jesus Christ. We do this by helping them Know Jesus, Know Community, Grow Character and Go Share.
Through the months of July and August we have had 15 people take their next step toward Jesus Christ through baptism. Let’s celebrate these baptisms and the next steps these individuals have taken. This is also a great time to encourage others you know who need to take their next step toward Jesus by establishing a relationship with Him and being baptized. Together we can fulfill our mission and help as many people as possible take their next step.

8 Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, "You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread? 9 Do you still not understand? Don't you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered? 10 Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?

First Sunday
Today is the first Sunday of August. The month of August is a turning point in many people's lives. If you have children, then the countdown has begun to school starting back up. If you are a football fan, practice has begun and the first kickoff is just a few weeks away. If you enjoy taking vacation during the summer, August is the last month of summertime.
August is also a time when many people look to reconnect with church. Sometimes they have stopped going during the summer because of vacations or other activities or maybe it has been a lot longer than just the summer months since they have been to church. Whatever their reason for returning, we are glad they are here.We want to be ready and welcoming of them. If you see someone you don't recognize, take a moment and say hello. If you see someone who looks like they don't know where to go, offer them some assistance. Your awareness of them and your friendliness to them will make a difference. Together we can make a difference for the Kingdom.
Tonight also marks the beginning of the First Sunday services for the 2008/2009 year. Join us at 6:00 PM for a time of worship, a message from Clay and refreshments afterword.
