What Are You Asking For?
Prayer Force meets every Monday at 11:30. This is a time set aside to pray for Kingdom issues. At this morning's session one of the things we prayed about was baptisms. In January we felt a leading from God that we were supposed to baptize at least 90 people in 2009. Through June 30 we had baptized 22. While we want to celebrate the 22, we were feeling a little down about the number not being higher at the halfway point in the year. So we prayed about it. I spoke to Jock Hendricks tonight around 6:30. He informed me that we had 5 people lined up to be baptized this coming Sunday. The neat part is, they were all set up this afternoon - AFTER Prayer Force. And he had the privilege of leading one of them to Christ just this afternoon.
"Ask and it will be given to you..." What are you asking for?

On Mission
On Friday we sent a group of 10 students and adults on a mission trip to Botswana. To follow their progress go to www.adbcinafrica2009.blogspot.com.
A group of 15 middle school students and adults are also on a mission trip to Knoxville, TN this week.
Remember both of these groups in your prayers this week as they Go Share with the least of these.

And They're Off
We gathered at the church this morning to see off the 4th group going to Africa. This group represents the Student Ministry. They will primarily be working with the orphan feeding station.
As I write this post the team is flying over the Atlantic. Their next stop is in Senegal before heading to South Africa and finally on to Botswana. They are scheduled to arrive on Sunday.
Please pray for the safety of the group as they travel over the next 41 hours.
Keep checking back here for further updates on their progress.

Build on the Rock Update
We are now well into our third year of the Build on the Rock campaign. Over the last two years we have completed a renovation of the Student Building to provide more classroom space, paved an additional 62 parking spaces and a built covered drop-off with a new entrance to the main building. During this same time we have seen the student Bible Community attendance increase 40% and worship attendance has increased 11%. Your contribution to Build on the Rock is an investment in providing space for people to come and take their next step toward Jesus Christ.
The countdown has begun to the completion of the campaign. We have 39 weeks left to reach our goal of $1,900,000. To date we have received $1,285,406.09. We can do this together. Thank you for the gifts already given and those yet to be given.

Student Camp
Last week 100 children, students and leaders attended camp. The report back was that they all had a great time and several took their next step toward Christ at camp. We are following up with each of them to help them as they continue on their journey.
The students were featured as the group of the day at the Student Life Camp. To read more click on the following link: http://camp.studentlife.com/experience/group-of-the-day.php?cn=09SHOC03&pg=3380

Summer Camp
Yesterday morning we had the opportunity to send 100 students, children and chaperones to camp for the week. Camp is a great time for people to take their next step toward God. Many grow in their walk with Christ during the week. Some take their first step and ask Jesus into their hearts as a result of their participating in camp. Others began to grow and develop as leaders. As you can see, this week of camp is far more than just a good time - it is a week of next steps. Keep the 100 in your prayers this week and ask God to move in each one of their lives as they each continue their journey.
