Build on the Rock Update

We are now well into our third year of the Build on the Rock campaign. Over the last two years we have completed a renovation of the Student Building to provide more classroom space, paved an additional 62 parking spaces and a built covered drop-off with a new entrance to the main building. During this same time we have seen the student Bible Community attendance increase 40% and worship attendance has increased 11%. Your contribution to Build on the Rock is an investment in providing space for people to come and take their next step toward Jesus Christ.

The countdown has begun to the completion of the campaign. We have 32 weeks left to reach our goal of $1,900,000. To date we have received $1,332,115.55. We can do this together. Thank you for the gifts already given and those yet to be given.

Build on the Rock Update

As we approach the second anniversary of the Build on the Rock Campaign we have several things to celebrate. The renovation of the Student Building has been completed. This provided for additional classroom space for Sunday morning Bible Community Groups. The additional parking and covered drop-off have also been completed. This added 62 additional paved spaces and provided an entrance by which people can enter the building protected from the weather.

Since the additional classroom space opened for the students, their Bible Community attendance has increased nearly 40%. Since the additional parking spaces were added, Worship attendance has increased 12%. Through your faithful and generous giving to Build on the Rock, space has been provided, space for people to come and Know the grace of a loving God, space for people to come and Know the community of church, space for people to Grow their character and space for people to Go share their gifts and talents with others.

Finally, thank you for helping this church take its Next Step.

Construction Update

Work is continuing on the drop-off and parking lot. The columns are up and filled with concrete and the masons are bricking up the columns. On Monday, the steel was put in place for the roofing structure. Next week the curbing will be poured and the shape of the parking lot will begin to emerge.

There is a lot happening on the east side of the building. If you haven't seen the site yet, walk over on Sunday and see what is going on.

Construction Update

As I am writing this I am looking out my office window. A crane is lifting buckets of concrete high in the air to fill up the columns for the covered drop-off. If all goes well, they are trying to set the steel in place today and tomorrow. Check back later for pictures and further updates.

Construction Update

After working all of last week to clear the trees, the crew has finished clearing the ground for the new parking area. They are now beginning the grading process. As I look out my office window, I see the block masons beginning to lay the columns for the drop-off. It looks as if the project is moving forward and will be completed before the summer is over.

Construction Update

Work on the parking lot is moving along. This morning a crew is cutting down the trees and digging up the stumps to get ready for the site work to be done. As I am writing this, I can hear the chain saws cutting away. Keep returning to the site for more updates. I will keep you posted as progress occurs.

Construction Update

Some updates on the new parking lot and drop off project:

  • The parking lot was surveyed and marked off yesterday with stakes put up showing the outline of the lot.
  • The irrigation system is supposed to be relocated today and the shrubbery moved.
  • The tree clearing and leveling of the parking area should be under way next week as well as the pouring of the columns for the drop off area.

It looks like the summer will be very active which should lead to the completion of the parking lot before the upswing in attendance in August

Construction Updates

The electrical inspection on the Student Building is complete and the sheet rock is being hung today. If things continue to move along smoothly, Nathan and the students are hoping to paint next weekend.

Student Building Update

The renovation to the Student Building continues to go well. Walls are going up for the classrooms and the balcony for the tech equipment has been added. The building takes on a different look each day when I walk out to see what the crews are working on. Estimated completion time is just two weeks away. I know the students are looking forward to getting back into their "new" home.
Thank you for giving to Build on the Rock. Through your generosity we are able to make room for more students to take their Next Step toward Jesus Christ.

Build on the Rock Update

Lots of changes continue to take place as we move forward with the construction and renovation projects around the campus. This week crews have been relocating the fountain and prayer garden to make room for the additional parking spaces. In addition to relocating the fountain, the steeple from the old church is incorporated into this garden area.

Thanks to Jim Arnemann and Smoak irrigation for taking on this project.

Build on the Rock - Work Has Begun!

The renovations to the Student Building began this morning. Electricians are on-site working to move light fixtures and add the necessary wiring for the new floor plan. The estimated completion time for the project is 3 to 4 weeks. This project will provide much needed classroom space and reconfigure the large group meeting space to better accommodate the students.

Thank you for your generosity in giving to the Build on the Rock campaign. Through your giving lives will be changed for eternity.

Check back here often for updates and pictures of the construction.
